Hot Dog Protein Pancakes
The perfect mix for a hot dog fix!
RECIPE 1 Hot Dog Pancakes
makes 8 small pancakes
What you will need:
1/4 cup protein powered pancake mix
1/4 cup milk or milk alternative
1 egg
1 hot dog sliced into small bite sized pieces
2 tbsp sliced red onion
How to do it:
Step 1: Using a fork, whisk 1/4 cup of the mix, with 3 TBSP water (or 1/4 cup milk or milk alternative).
Step 2: Whisk a whole egg into the batter.
Step 3: Mix in the chopped hot dog and sliced onions.
Step 4: Spoon onto non-stick griddle with a large tablespoon (or if you want it crunchy, fry in a generous amount of olive oil in a frying pan).
Step 5: Once the surface of the pancakes are bubbly, turn over and cook the other side.
Top with your favourite hot dog fixings - especially good with sauerkraut!
RECIPE 2 Hot Dog Wraps
What you will need:
1/4 cup protein powered pancake mix
1/4 cup milk or milk alternative
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1 grass fed hot dog
How to do it:
Step 1: Using a fork, whisk 1/4 cup of the mix, with 1/4 cup milk or milk alternative.
Step 2: Stir in shredded cheese
Step 3: Pour all the batter into a well oiled non stick ceramic pan (cook the hot dog at the side of the pan).
Step 4: Once the surface of the pancakes are bubbly, turn over and cook the other side (flip the hot dog too).
Step 5: When done, spread mayo on pancake, place hot dog in the middle, top with your fave hot dog toppings like mustard, relish, ketchup and sauerkraut.
